My car was broken into, the face place got stolen, and now I have to buy a new stereo.

My biggest obstacle thus far have been the removal of the current source unit.

As far as I can tell, there are some sort of screw or attachment to the left side of the cage assembly holding the source unit.

I can't find any release switch for this, or screws on that side.

On the bottom there's 3 screws visible, 2 are attached to plastic clip that extent from the cage, I've removed both. Can't really get to the 3rd, and from fingering around I'm pretty sure it isn't connected to anything attached to the cage.

If anyone have any experience with this, much help is appreciated.

BTW, on another note, have anyone ever tried to changed their Echo into a cartoon character or animal? I've seen a Volkwagen Newbettle turned into a rat for an extermination business once. It had a tail and ears that would come up when there isn't any wind, it was pretty cool.

i removed the stereo from my 2000 echo. i had to pull 2 knobs off the ac and unscrew those screws, pull the entire dash up, then pull out the white plastic dash that ws under that, then i could get to the screws that held the radio on.

hope this helps.
