Question on USB audio input

I have USB drive songs arranged in folders. In my previous car which had a normal head unit, I could advance folders with one button and advance songs with another. When advancing songs when I got to the last one in the folder, it would advance to the first one in the next folder. In my newly purchased 2017 Corolla, it seems I can only advance the songs and then when reaching the end of the folder, it will advance back to the first song in the folder. It seems the only way to change folders is to use the "browse" feature which is tedious at best and impossible when driving.

Is there a way around this that I am missing? Still familiarizing myself with the car and controls.

On my Sony head unit, it only sees songs in folders. What I did, was moved the songs into the main directory of the thumb drive.

Is this an entune head unit?
Yes, it is the one that comes with the car so I believe that is an entune.
I've had my 2019 for about a year now and as far as I know, what you described is how it works. No way to change it.
Ugh. I have each album in a separate folder. It will be convoluted if I have to throw the entire collection into a single directory.
I believe it uses the tag ID to navigate between albums in the systems menu.

Might help using this Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v2, MP4, OGG, FLAC, ...)
