hey, as alot of you may know, i did my lowering not too long ago. now, i noticed that when i turn the wheel either way( when in P or driving/backing out at like < 5mph), my front suspension makes noises...like popping? now it NEVER makes noises or rattles when driving... is this bad? <<< SOLVED

another question...(dont feel like starting another thread.) when i drive then back up and press the brakes...it sounds like clanking. only once tho. then when i go foward again, it does it again. but again...only once. any suggestions? also, i have crappy pads with crappy rotors. lol. new...but crappy. brake dust from hell

thats just something we have had to learn to deal with. the soltion is installing thicker isolators but it never really goes away. i have 4 different suspension setups on 3 different camrys and they have all done it except for the coilovers im using now....which make a different noise.

one thing that WILL cause this noise for sure is if ya have bad strut mounts. if you replacemd them with the suspension, then you should be good.

ok. kool. im glad nothing is wrong. and yea, i got brand new strut mounts. (i had to get 96 avalon strut mounts to be able to lower the wagon...) somethin bout the bearing placement. idk. lol. Gino gave me all the info. and i am soooo greatful for it

probably just ill fitting pads moving up and down a bit in the bracket from the change of direction. make sure you have all the little clips in place.

^^ Correct - mine do that too! Some pads are simply manufactured shorter than others (have more clearance)and you can't make it go away even with new clips.

A small amount could be the caliper slides too. You ever grease them? That mite hide it for a while.

i had the same popping sound, i needed to replace my strut mount

i didnt replace it though, i just geased the bearings and it stoped.

o ok. so no problems then? when i had my brakes done...(b4 i knew how to do anything what so ever) they said i had hardly any clips in. they put more in tho.

Greasing them would help a lot in noise reduction. Even when I had noisy squeaks when I installed my springs, the grease just quieted them down.

Looks like someone swapped the intentions here as I was talking caliper slide pins and 2win2rbo appears to be talkin struts. . . .

I guess you need to grease party and lube anything thats old, dry crusty, squeaky! :facepalm:

Oh :facepalm: But yeah I usually grease things that move or even those with little movements. Not only it's a lubricant but also a rust preventer.
