Have you guys tried racing other cars (neons, civics, elantras, altimas, acuras, mazdas) with your "factory stocked " Corollas?

er...most people at the track aren't stock...and there's no point when you're racing with a stock vehicle.

at least, that's in my opinion, and directly relating to my stock 01.

I raced my corolla at the track yesterday and blew the engine... oh well.... luckily it was the carbs that just fell off, so I reattached those and drove home :cool:

hahaha.. gotta love carbs. :D

I raced a Civic Si coupe on the highway once lets just say after 180km/h he wasn't too happy. And another time also on the highway, some dood on a Civic EF sedan thought he had a hot rod in his hands.. I guess he found out he didn't after he flashed the lights at me. :lol:

well for some people, like me, it does make sense to race your stock ride on the track so you know what the time is with no mods. so next time you upgrade, you know what you gain by installing the upgrade parts. a lot of people are gu-estimating the horsepower and ability of their by simply relying on what toyota tells them but the actual fact, they're wrong. it's mostly marketing that's all. but people believe that their ride pushes 120hp when in reality it's only 105hp so when they install a new part that supposedly'll add 10+hp they just simply add the 120+10= 130hp, but when they go to the track the car runs like it's only pushing 100hp.

Depending on the driver, and track configuration. Your "Stocked Corolla" can easily beat anyone if the 1. driver is very experienced with the car 2. driver is very experienced with the track itself

Raced an older model Sunfire and newer Cavalier a few weeks ago on the famouse sea to sky highway between squamish and Horseshoe bay....and droped them both in my almost stock 89 ae92 (120hp) upgrades: K&N filter....and 2.5 diameter exhaust from the Cat back to a straight flow muffler. ohh and 14' Yokahama AVS 100 tires......killed them on all the corners.....and seemed to pull harder than tem in the passing lanes.......felt good.

Ok! The truth is most Corollas won't beat most Hondas on the street or anything for that matter especially if you have an automatic. Now this is assuming ''bone'' stock form and each car in paired by years in thier respective trim levels. Now modified cars will be a different story though I have yet to see a newer modified Corolla beat a equally tuned car of its class. Not hating just giving my experience and opinions. Fast is ae86 with 3tc hi comp engine with a 100 shot! Yes, all Florida peeps soon to see the taillights of my hatchback! Smokin y'all like a blunt of crippy!

actually in the ae92 years an ae92 dx would fair quite well against a 1.5L civic hatch of the same year... hell, my 4a-fe still beat the 1.5L 93's hatch easily.... and then i swapped, lol

chp = crank hp

To micro the car is just about going to undergo the operation. Boricua estilo all the way. All u need is 3tc bell housing,motor mounts and some tranny components. Oh btw I have an old school racer that has done this quite often with his cars. i have pic of car in profile but thats it.I'll pm u some when i am done. I just want people to see what it was before Hondas and how a3tc single cam runs high 13's with just head work and bolt ons. How would u feel getting smoked by an 18 yr old toyota? and by a supposed drift car? i would sell the Honda faster than a rabbit can f***!
