Yesterday, I noticed that Toyota has two different part numbers for our rear axle beams; one w/o sport (4210102340) and one w/sport suspension (4210102350).

Does anybody know what the difference is?

I was surprised that there was a different part number . . . .

Well I have a sport model and as such I have rear disc brakes. So the rear axle w/sport is most likely for the models that have rear disc brakes and the ones with drums in the rear use the rear axle without sport.

Rear Axle Beam Differences

Well I have a sport model and as such I have rear disc brakes. So the rear axle w/sport is most likely for the models that have rear disc brakes and the ones with drums in the rear use the rear axle without sport.
The rear wheel hubs have the same part number, so the hub to axle beam interface is the same.

The e-brake cables appear to mount directly on the calipers (although I haven't seen this in person yet), so this shouldn't differ.

I had thought about the rear brake differences, but I can't make that make sense.

In another thread (swapping S rear discs/calipers onto a rear drum brake car), nothing else is mentioned as far as parts that would suggest that the axle beam is different.

Still looking for answers . . . .
