Hi, I am refurbishing a 02 Highlander and am replacing all the rear control arms. There are three on each side. Does anybody know what the paint marks are for on them? Are they for identification or orientation of the arm?
Thanks,
Ron

I don't know about the paint marks ( if different colors maybe ID but same color orientation?). You can input the VIN on this site and search "Rear Suspension" and it will give you the P/N's you need. Handy site for reference.

They might've been for alignment purposes or someone had replaced them before. Take a picture.

These paint marks came that way on the new control arms I bought. I ordered OME arms from McGeorge Toyota online. The arm that is adjustable, that you do your alignment with are marked red, the other one is marked blue. The lateral one (the one that runs along side of car) has a yellow mark on it. It must be for orientation or something. But which way do you point the marks?
