I have a 2013 Highlander Limited. When I use either the button on the dash or on my fob to close the back hatch door, it will close all the way down, sound like it clicks (grabs) but then un-clicks and kicks the hatch back open. Any suggestions on how to fix or what could be wrong?

Are the hinges/door aligned? Follow body lines and compare on both sides of the door

If it's not that, it may be a bad limit switch.


My hatch is somewhat temperamental: most of the time it will pull all the way closed, whereas at other times it'll give up and open back up, even if I haven't changed the cargo layout.
