Hi there I tried a search but didn't find anything.

Can someone confirm that airflow from all 4 roofline vents are the same? my far rear vents have more cold air pushing through than the 2nd row rear vents after I heard a loud, fan fluttering noise back there.

i turned off back a/c, noise stopped. turned it back on, then heard a loud noise.

like i said it was a flutter. not happening anymore, but far rear airflow is better than 2nd row.

can anyone help me understand this?

I have a '15 XLE 2wd

If its really hot weather I can see for a few minutes the air traveling longer being a bit warmer, but really sounds like an issue to take to dealer.

Its closest to the blower, its right behind the rear right wheel mounted on the bottom of the car. It has a single large duct that goes to the roof where it splits to 2 sets of ducts to handle each side of roof vents. They stay pretty steady on size all the way to all the vents and it isn't necessarily designed to limit airflow to the closest vent beyond basic pressure limiting airflow. So you'll get a little more out of it. Not necessarily a ton though.

Looks like this, the grey foam duct is the single cooled duct to the roof. The one going over the rear wheel is the duct that caries heat to the single lower vent. You can't get heat out of the roof and cool out of the floor on the rear HVAC system.

wow thank you for posting this cut-away. @sweenyp

If i have airflow, then since there is only one blower and it's blowing fine, I should be ok.
It would also make sense that airflow in the back is stronger than the 2nd row due to proximity to the blower.

I will have dealer check it out.

now that i know blower is under right rear quarter window, i can add that I just had that window replaced because it was shattered by a BB a few weeks ago. I bet some shards fell or got inhaled by the recirc and were caught in the blower.

Which is why it still works.

Should I be concerned and get this looked at? afraid dealer will just say working as designed and not do the warranty labor on it.
