Is it common for a rear main seal to begin leaking on a 2013 Rav? I bought the car new, it has been well maintained, other than the torque converter needing replaced again it has been a good car. Very upsetting that I have a large repair bill coming up.

Although you will probably NEVER get a Toyota tech to admit that there is a connection, unusual stresses such as torque converter shudder can have a detrimental impact on the crankshaft oil seal at the back of the engine block (rear main seal).
