Yesterday, I went to Walmart, tried to find the crc mass air flow sensor cleaner, but only found a baby size Crc maf sensor bundle with throttle body cleaner, but there are many 11 oz crc quickdry electronic connector cleaner, I was comparing the ingredients between the two, and they are almost the same, bought the crc qde, went home and started spraying the maf sensor, air dry for 15 minutes, installed it back, and I feel all the low rpm power came back, now the 2az-fe comfortablely acelerating around 1.5 to 2k rpm, mine must be very dirty, never maintained before, and I did 3 vehicles with a single $5 bottle of crc qde cleaner. How often this sensor needed cleaning, is it similar to the pcv valve as well?

You could probably set a MAF Cleaning Maintenance interval... though I usually clean mine when I clean my throttle body since unhooking the battery is usually a good idea when cleaning the MAF. Otherwise my cleaning interval is usually just random as they don't get that dirty even with my K&N. I just do it when I feel it is time...

I replace air filter every three years and clean MAF at same time. I have never seen cleaning solvent ever pick up much of anything from the sensor elements as one would expect changing air filter on regular basis. Regards
