I am just wondering why you decided not to use it? I would impagine it would be useful in cold climates where you wanted to warm up the passanger compartment before you left for the day.

I have heard that it is really a seperate system and that you have to 'restart' the truck once you get in using the regular key or fob.

I have the on-board, remote start for my 09 Hy Hi and have really enjoyed having this option.

Flame Red is correct. Once you start the vehicle with the remote start, it will "turn off" when you unlock/open the doors. To engage, you press the lock buttom three times in sucession, holding it down on the third press until you see the corner markers blink. It will automatically turn itself off after (I think) 10 minutes of running so it will NOT run "all day" if you should happen to forget that you remote started your vehicle or got delayed getting out to it.

The reason for turning itself off when you open the doors is a security issue. If you left it running and the door open, someone could potentially drive it off - or steal whatever you have inside. With push button start it's not a bid deal.
