i have a 04 Tacoma and the remote lock/unlock does not work. i have replaced the battery in the remote and then replaced the remote twice along with the batteries in same. i'm thinking it has to be the receiver for the remote. Does anyone have any idea where this unit is located in the truck? Am i on the right track? All other electric aspects of the truck work.

reprogram your remote dude....it should work then

sorry not to mention that i have reprogramed the remotes per the intructions so many times i can do it in my sleep.

any other ideas or suggestions?

Try unhooking the truck's battery for a reset of the alarm system....then reprogram the remote again

thanks. did that as well. i did have an electrical glitch with the stock radio. it has a short and was draining the battery. 3 batteries and one used stock radio and all is good. last issue is the remote.

totally stumped, might be time for the dealer. ugh.
