I've been meaning to pull the tape deck I've never used (along with everybody else I'm sure) in my 05-anybody know of a retrofit to sub in? Toyoya wants a ton of $$$ for a storage container...Also, lost a link to site where it shows me how to pull the trim off so I can remove the tape deck-anybody have a site or info?

Here is a link to a past thread that discusses removal of the cassette tape deck. Reply #7 also contains a link to instructions for removal of the console. There should be other threads addressing this issue, so you'll want to use the forum's search tool to find any additional relevant threads.
