Removing back seats?

Rear Cushion Of Back Seat 1992 Toyota Paseo
Can somebody please explain how to remove the back rear cushion of the back seats. I have removed the lower cushion however can't seem to figure out how to remove the upper rear cushion. I see two square looking nuts on the sides but my sockets just dont fit on these squarish looking nuts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 1992 Toyota Paseo

Do yours fold down?
I did not think they did fold down but I'm starting to believe they do fold down. I never folded them down before. The reason I think they did fold down was because I looked at one that had the fold down seats and the bolt and hinge set up is just like mine. My problem is I can not get into the trunk. The cable must have broke and I never had a key for trunk as it is not the original trunk lock cylinder. Is there any wayto get the seat to fold down without access to the trunk?? Thanks for any help.
Look near the top on each side of the rear seat and you'll find straps similar to seat belts. Pull those to release the seat to fold down. They can however be locked from inside trunk.
