My new Highlander has been branded in 3 locations, the licence plate has a plastic thing around it (fine) the lower left has that stick-on decal stuff and the front has the same stick-on stuff. I would like to remove the stick-on lettering because I can't stand it.

It was either the stick-on decal on the front, or a licence plate. I chose the stick-on because where I live we don't use front licence plates and that plate would be drilled right into the front bumper, and that would drive me nuts.

How do I remove this "branding" without damaging the paint?

Hairdryer or a warm day.

Funny thing, when I bought mine, they added the vinyl stickers while I was getting the title. The sales guy was decent about apologizing for it and he made sure it was on there only for a second so I could take it off easily. Dealership policy and all...

Warm them slightly with a heat gun or hair dryer, peel 'em off. Any residual adhesive can be removed safely using Goo-Gone or even a soft cloth dampened with nail polish remover and a little gentle scraping with your fingernail if neccesary. In the collision shop we use a fast dry enamel reducer to remove really stubborn stuff left from removing moldings and the like, which won't harm your urethane clearcoat finish at all, just not in direct hot sunshine.... however you shouldn't need to get that aggressive with a sticker.
I know a few guys that keep a can of hair spray in their shops for removing foreign matter from paint, and swear it works, but i personally can't attest to its' effectiveness having not tried it.

I agree. Hair dryer, heat gun, or a warm day. If any adhesive is left, use prep clean to remove. Prep clean is available at any auto parts store. Best advice is to wax after using the prep clean (it removes the wax). Good luck on removing dealer marketing....
