lol. Us S/C guys are few and far between and the Scion population in general is thin on TN.

Once you get the key the hard part is keeping the pulley and shaft from turning when you try and loosen it. I tried a strap wrench but it didn't grip tight enough so I just paid somebody to do it.

I've been afraid to have someone do it for me. I didn't want anyone saying they could change it, then do something stupid to get the bolt out and damage my shaft. On top of that the dealer won't touch it. I've been dying to get this pulley and my crank pulley on. it seems easy enough, its just this tamper "resistant" bolt on the s/c pulley drivin me nuts

I just called TRD and they can't help. Said it's proprietary and I can't get it.
The dealer wont help for two reasons.
#1. They become liable for anything that they've caused
#2. They can't get the tool.

See, TRD doesn't let us tear down to repair main components of thier performance parts. They send us warranty replacement components and we send back the faulty unit, much like Radios.

If there's a special tool you can get for this you'll have to call either McGuard or Kent-Moore/SPX

^ but the SC comes unassembled ... they actually put the pulley on at the dealership. I know this because I ordered thru Sparks Toyota out of state and brought it myself to a local dealer for the install.

Here's what I pulled outta the box when it first arrived.
