Trying to get access to the sheet metal sides of the trunk, and found that the fabric
liner seems to be just glued on, vs. the reusable rivets that are present on some
later generation corollas. I am correct that the stuff is dead once I remove it?

I'm thinking I coudl get some of that adhesive velco at Lowe's and just use that
to rehang the fabric once I'm done. Not sure it will stick to the fabric side, though.

Just use double-sided sticky tape, those coin-thick ones from CVS or something, not the scotchtape-like one...

Adhesive velcro isn't a bad idea but the adhesive might fail in Texas heat during the summer. Unless you plan on pulling them back off again, I would just go with a decent contact adhesive like Goop that won't turn to mush in the heat.
