On my center console wood trim piece, the lamination is pulling away big time from the wood. Anyone know of a satisfactory way to repair this, or in the alternative are the OE pieces still available? Don't want to pull it off and replace it with the cheap fake wood stick on garbage.

i hardly think that there would be a viable way to repair something along those lines. i would suggest the junky stick on garbage, but there is a possibility that they still sell OEM parts. give any dealership a call. you will certainly have to pay for it i would imagine its not going to be cheap, none the less it might be available. my car did not come with the wood trim but i have been looking at adding it in, i think it just give the interior that extra touch over the plastic trim.

It can be removed!! I did to my 96 LE! My wood dash looked just like urs when I bought it.

Heat it up with a hair dryer, and just pull it off..there will be tape left on the dash. I then heated the tape up and rubbed it off with my fingers...The tape will be hot, so wear leather or like me mechanix gloves! Take ur time! Clean the rest off with goo off or adhesive remover.

I recently installed a new wood dash on the 96 (Christmas gift from the wife) She ordered a very high quality set off the net (she doesn't remember where) excellent quality, good fit, nice thick pieces ...wasn't cheap tho! Google "wood dashes" u'll get a lot of hits!

We have the same situation with our 98. The wood trim was replaced after 2 years under warranty and of course the replacement wood trim did exactly the same thing. It isn't nearly as bad as your situation. It deteriorated to a certain point and stopped. We live with it.

My brother just bought a 96... beautiful car but all the wood is peeling like in your picture.

Now, I see kits on ebay from $115-160... but they appear to be stickers. I'm OK with that but I'm affraid of what kinda mess the stock stuff will leave!

I am wondering if I can just put the stickers over the wood triming I have the same problem as many has mention but I was looking at my wood trim and asked myself why not buy the sticker set and place it over the wood trim> Do you guys think this would be a good idea?

I'd do that but the wood is curling up. It has to be removed and replaced.

ok I understand well mines just looks faded like the sun got the best of it is that is why I was thinking of just placing the stickers over it the only difrence that I do not know what is the difrence between the $150 or the $60 on ebay.

My advice is to get peel it off and the reason is that you will eventually see the old adhesive underneath start to fail and you will be back to square one. Just go ahead and peel the old stuff off, just remember the warmer it is the easier it is to come off. Use a hair drier if its already not hot enough outside!
