I need spare keys for my 2008 Corolla. Is it easy to program the key rather than paying a locksmith to do that? If not, can I shop online to find a decent price?

Thanks,
Mark

Did you lose a spare set?

The key ID is kept in the memory and would need to be programmed into the ecu. This is a techstream function.

The old key ID needs to be removed. I have no idea how many IDs the memory holds.

Not sure about the Corolla, but for the Sienna I got chip keys from eBay, Home Depot cut them for me, then there was a manual way of using the master key and opening and closing the door 6 times to program another Key, which I did and worked fine for 1, then I gave up after trying it for another, getting late and I didn't want to disturb the neighbor. Then there is a fella that rents programmers for that, I think he sells on eBay, you could look into that too.
