I'm trying to help a relative who lives in California find a source for a catalytic converter for a 2006 Prius. The need to replace the catalytic converter was indicated by a state-required engine smog test. We'd like to avoid having to buy from a Toyota dealership since their price would probably be much higher than aftermarket sources. I can find many sources of catalytic converter for the vehicle but, so far, they all say they are not legal in California. Does anybody know of non-dealership sources for catalytic converter that meet California standards?

What is the warranty on the emission parts there in CA (a CARB state) You might be surprised to check. Jump on over to the priuschat site for more help on the Gen 2 cars
