technically u could get away with a brighter more intense bulb but whats the point...?

if u do change the bulb make sure u change it back to stock before ur inspection otherwise u'll fail

i put two blue bulbs back there...they kinda look hyper white...as long as you dont back up in fornt of a cop, there should be no problem (and you replace it when inspection comes along) i got the idea from the Skyline whos backup light are blue
