Hi,

If you get stranded in the middle of the road (flat tire, out of gas, mechanical failure), what is the wisest thing to do if you don't know anyone nearby to call to come and help you? Should we just wait until a police officer drives by? That could be a long wait. Is it worthwhile to sign up for some form of roadside assistance (AAA, AT&T Wireless MobileAssit, etc)? Are services like that reliable? Please let me know. Thanks.

^ ya just carry a cellphone even if its not hooked up or has service most phones can call 911 for free. in some states i kno they have call boxes on the side of the freeway. but your insurance should be able to cover roadside assistence so you wont have to deal with sumthin else

I don't think calling 911 over a flat tire is a smart idea... I'd call information and get the number to a towing company, or garage and go from there.

I'd go with the call 411 and ask for any Tow truck companies in the area.

calling 911 for a flat tire isnt that bad, it is an emegency,
well if u think thats bad you should see the report on local news a couple weeks ago on how alot of people local and out of staters call 911 for directions!!

I keep a few tow truck numbers in the glove box. IN houston, you don't have to worry about it...within minutes...you will have wreackers lining up...you will have a CHOICE! wreakers arrive faster than police/ambulance for emergencies...Houston is amazing...

i have a triple AAA sticker on back of my bumper, yepp, Team AAA 4 life ! :werd: calling AAA would be a hassle tho since if i do some twisty mountain driving and have a problem, its all dead signals/reception for a cell phone, so gotta use the call box :

Gotta have AAA. They have paid for themselves over and over and over. They are very reliable even though sometimes they lie about how many minutes it's gonna take to get to your car. I have the platinum service so I have free towing for a 100 mile distance. I have even made money from them selling tows for my friends.

Get you ass in the dirt and pull it off yourself. Throw on the spare.... and drive home. If you by your car from a clown that puts a 4 lug spare in a 5 lug car.... then pull that crap off and take it to the nearest tire store for repair.

get AAA, they'll tow you, give you gas, fix ur tire (u should kno how but they'll do it anyway), just have a cell phone to call though

yeah I think my Mom only paid 23 bucks to add me and i think thats yearly? not sure but its cheap. you know how murphys laws work....you dont have AAA you will need it etc...
