one suggestion on tie wraps, the sunlight (UV) will affect them and they turn very brittle after a year in the sun, so might want to just hand paint them to protect the plastic?
That is a good point, since we all probably use zip ties in mods and various things. And, no offense, but you lowlanders :D don't have a real clue about what real UV is or can really do.

My son is a commercial electrician and I have taken his advice and now use zips that are made by Klein (or Vaco). They are black, have UV inhibitors formulated into them, have a 50 lb tensil strength, withstand temps up to 185 F. and best of all IMO, they can be released and reused (good for when I decide I do not like the way I routed something). They are pricey though at about $15 for 60 of them. On the plus side, I have never yet had one fail in any application where I have used them on car, truck or ATV.

That look great PT. the bedlight mods are way overdue for me, i just keep putting it off. I like the amount of light in the bed, just right.

Thanks! I'm quite please with how they came out! More light than I expected actually! I figured it would be like it is, but after testing the lights before install I started to doubt how much light they would produce. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised once it was dark out and I turned them on! :whatwhat:

I hear you about the need for lights! I've been dealing with loading things up at night for months! It never fails: we stop by my in laws, stay until it's dark, and then mom insists on loading crap in the truck for us to store in our barn for her. :disappoin

So I struggle out to the truck with a big rubber maid tote, can't see in the bed, can't see where the dogs have crapped in the driveway, and their porch light doesn't do enough. And I never bother to back up to the porch unless I KNOW I'm getting something.

Now it's winter so it gets dark between 5pm and 6pm so I'm almost ALWAYS unloading the truck in the dark now. With the folding cover I could get some light from the porch lights, but the new canopy blocks it now.

I am kinda glad I waited on this mod though. Saved myself $40-$50 buying from vm innovations rather than the first set I found for $90+shipping. Plus this one has 2 remotes so I have a spare for the valet key or if one breaks.
