Anybody ever hear of the 2001-04 Tacomas being prone to easy roll-over? I was getting in my truck last night to go home when a co-worker came over to check out my truck. He said he really liked the older Tacomas, but he said his wife had rolled a extended cab pre-runner a few years back after it was clipped by another vehicle. He said he did some research on the vehicle and found they were prone to roll-over. I think he is just blowin smoke, and he probably found an isolated incident that was blown out of proportion. Just like the Samurai's got a bad rep for roll overs back in the 80's. I once read that if the testers had ran a corvette in the same scenario as the Sammy, it would have rolled as well.

I think he's right. In accident avoidance or maneuvering in a accident, any vehicle can roll over so that becomes an isolated incident and not necessary the norm for any specific vehicle. The higher the truck the higher the center of gravity and the more conscious the driver needs to be that he (she) is not driving a go cart. There are driving cautions on the visor that remind the driver of that. Common sense goes a long way.

Yep, compared to a low slung sports car a Tacoma can be considered roll prone. Of course you can also consider it prone to Roll (on its tires) over said sports car!
