Just watching an episode of Trucks or Truckin' or whatever it's called.

Commercial for Royal Purple motor oil mentioned that this stuff increases horsepower.

I have no idea how an oil could increase power. Can anyone validate this claim? Anyone out there using Royal Purple in their Tacomas?

Thanks,

Royal Purple is good stuff - on the cutting edge along with Amsoil. Can't go wrong with Mobil 1 synthetic either.

When I put Royal Purple in my V-Rod I saw a 20 degree tempature drop in the crankcase with much easier shifting over Harley-Davidson's Syn 3 oil (which also showed improvement over conventional oil).

Before synthetics were common, Royal Purple used to make some great drag racing oil - not suitable for street use, but worth a solid 8-10 horsepower without any other changes.
