As you know, the Scion FR-S is the Toyota GT-86 in Europe. While some may complain that the engine means it is not a real Toyota, we say look back to the Toyota Sports 800. With a dual-carb, 2-cylinder, boxer engine up front this was a low-cost sports car in its day.
Made from 1965 to 1969 this little sports car had 49 horsepower and the British have just introduced it to its latest descendent. The Team at Pistonheads took these two, rear-wheel-drive coupes out for a drive on a clear day. The older Toyota, manages to do 70 MPH with only a 790 cc engine. So think hard before you call the new hachi-roku, underpowered.
