I just bought my new scion a week ago and can't wait to put navigation in it. I run a car audio shop and I have a 4-runner that we put nav in. It looks just like the factory but it plays DVD as well. I found this site tonight and started to check it out. The site is great and has a ton of info. Anyways I thought I would post a pic of the 4 runner with the nav and see what everybody thinks. I plan to load up the scion with some audio but I need some fresh ideas. So if anyone has seen something cool on the net or has a idea for something diffrent let me know. Heres the pic of the nav in the 4 runner let me know if you think it would look good in the scion. Thanks for any input.

If I have to ask...that probably means it's not an option for me, but....

About how much does that unit go for? And does it really have audio, video, and nav in that one unit, that fits in the tC console??

Your looking at $1,500 to $2,500 for a system that does audio, video, and navigation. the AVN goes for about $2k plus installation and all fits in the standard Double DIN head unit slot. Most of the other ones have a hideaway box that needs to be put under a seat or in the glove box. You can also find one that does just audio and video for closer to $1k.

Hmmm.....

Well, I definitely don't need the navigation part...but I"m not sure I want to fork over $1,000 to get integrated audio and video. I'm not sure what installation would be like compared to this spiffy unit (ie: what it would look like in a tC and where it would need to go), but aren't there DVD players, etc. for cars for somewhere around $500 or $600, or am I smoking something? Hehe.

Sorry for the newb questions. If you have a website or something to point me to and don't feel like typing it all out, that works for me!

THANKS!

I played with the Pioneer Avic-N1 at my local store the day I picked up my xB...maybe in my future??!

I think it is the best system out there functionally. I also like the excellent, intuitive and ergonomic controls...not something that can be said about the crap stock radio buttons.

Rolling AM/FM radio, CD, MP3, DVD, nav, sat radio, multi-source routing and Vehicle Dynamics color guages...etc...all into a single DIN space on the dash...gotta love it. And it's own website and an interactive demo CD: http://www.avic-n1.com/

Other options I'm looking at (what to do with the other DIN slot ):D ) are the yet to be released IG710 from Autonode or simply a car PC with the beautiful Xenarc 700YV custom fit into the double DIN space.

Do you worry about the navigation system being stolen? I think that is one of my main concerns with a nav system right now (besides that I dont have the money).
