Damn this new version looks mighty clean:D.

As the comments say below they should really drop a V6 in this car, and a LSD...

meh... it needs an s/c, a useable 6spd and lsd. A v6 would just make it even heavier when added to all the glass its got.

And about all the autoblog replies ... I've had my share of v8's both 1/4mi hauses and corner carvers but my tc is cheap on gas, reliable as a camry and a blast to drive in 5spd trim with mild suspension upgrades.
Yeah, a V6 would make it heavier, but so would a S/C with possible I/C and piping.

the 2gr-fe is only about 100lbs heavier than the 2az-fe.
they should use the last generation 3sgte which discontinued not to long ago...

^the whole S series couldn't keep up with lev/ulev standards for new cars. :sosad:

anywaiz, this new release series seems pretty nice for the ~$1000-2000 cap that the RS cars seem to have. the 2.0 was kinda lacking, and the 1.0 was pretty good, but this one seems like a great deal with a factory painted (and perfectly color matched) non-oem-like bodykit and blacked out headlights with an oem seal. they say the tails are the usual led tails, but with a grey trim or something- i wonder what those look like...
They should jut drop in the 2GR. Yawn....
M/T version
2az-fe: 280lbs
2gr-fe: 359lbs

2gr-fse: 399lbs
3gr-fse: 396lbs
4gr-fse: 397lbs

And they use the same E351 2az-fe transmission.

79lbs, Big shit. A centerfugal blower is going to weigh 30lbs by itself. Not including the piping to run one.
Put the 2gr-fe in it. The FSE heads are massive & heavy. Only puts out 1 more % power to weight ratio.

3s-gte's should be left in 1995. They're heavier than all the v6's; ever. Nor do they touch the powerband, or economy of almost any of the v6's. Great engine back in the day, but they've been surpassed.

and they're friggin hard to pass smog anyways (cali).

a n/a around 2.0L will surpass the gen 3/4 3s-gte with better efficiency and lighter weight. it's just a matter of time.
How bout the 1MZFE?

That is the V6 from a 4th gen camry right?

Oh and whatever they do to the tC they should do to the corrola also.
Corrola would really use at least a 2.4
i didnt see anything on there that says its going to have a v6, just cause it says 3.0 doesnt mean its a v6, i think the 3.0 is just the version as in series 3.0 just like the last 2 models cause theres a sereis 1.0 and a series 2.0
think about it guys
I really like the look of the Scion TCs, and all the special versions they make. I just wish they would make a trim with a more powerful engine or a s/c edition, anything. I need to get a new car, just about to graduate, so now deciding what to get.
