I've had a 2016 RAV4 XLE for a few months; pretty happy with most things but Scout GPS is just pathetic. I'm curious if my experience is the same as everyone, or if perhaps there is an issue between the unit and my phone.... something else, I don't know.

1) The primary problem is that the Scout App does not stay active on the phone when not in use. If the app is not running on the phone and you try to engage the feature from the head unit, it does not start the app on the phone, but just reports that the app isn't running. Seems like it should launch.

2) when using voice search, I frequently get the response "service unavailable". The speech recognition does not appear to be the issue, it's actually searching for the same destination I later typed in manually.

So is this the behavior you get with the Scout function? Anyone know if TeleNAV plans any kind of update that would correct such things? Have they pushed out useful updates to the app in the past?
