i made some boxes for my 6x9s in the rear of my car. is it better to have it sealed boxes like almost air tight or put a hole in them? and anyone got an acoustics webpage about this?
I wouldn't necessarily say go with sealed... most (all) speakers are designed to work with infinite baffle/free air... so you could very well not seal the boxes... but it really depends on a few factors which I don't feel like explaining so... seal it cause it will make things easier. A sealed box will give you a tigher, punchier sound but it will not play quite as low as it would in a free air set up... also, a sealed box helps prevent you from bottoming out your speakers.
Look at your specs majority of of 6x9,6.5...are designed for infinite baffle. Sealed is usually not recommended, unless this will be your source of bass.
