I've been looking to upgrade my CD player sometime before summer and am looking for maybe a DVD/CD player. Any good suggestions?? I've been looking around on here and not seen too many pictures of them.. I've always had alpine cd players but am kinda open to suggestions.. I don't want to spend more then 600ish on one, I know you get what you pay for but that's quite a lot for and maybe 1K would be the way to go but I'd rather keep that money for later on.. Also having a GPS in it would be cool as well. Maybe DVD ain't the way to go maybe i'll just stick with a aftermarket CD player to play my i pod through.

Here are some options I've kinda been looking at..

Kenwood DDX6019 in-dash DVD player

Kenwood KVT-617DVD

Just 2 so far.. Like I said I've always had alpine but I'm out to try anything different now, al don't know a lot about the others..Looking at some Alpine, Jenson, Pioneer, Kenwood

Any suggestsions will be appreciated..

ya, I've researched about the avic d3's and seem to be good besides the fact that they you can only use the navigation with the cd in there. You can pick a location to go to and remove the disk but if you want to re-route you have to put the disk back in.. I mean I listen to my i-pod more then cd's so I was thinking it wasn't going to be too bad.. I've kinda got a few more systems I like.. Anyone got any input or anything.. i just know what cnet tells me about the reviews. no personal experience or anything..

here are some more check them out and tell me what you think.

I have the Kenwood dnx7100 and I really really like it. you can adjust it and you don't have to take your cd out to use the nav. It hooks up and controls your ipod perfect among other things. The only thing I dont like about it is the nav graphics are kinda cheesy compared to some others I have seen. Its not cheap but I have heard of some people finding if for $899 (wish I had found it that cheap!)

ya, that kenwood kicks a$$.. Only downfall is the 900 you have to beg the wife to let you , in her words "waste" on a dvd player when we can watch movies on my laptop or something else and get gps on there too with microsoft streets and tips..

Yes. The power, speaker wires, and steering wheel controls plug in. No adapter harnesses needed, so it's easier to fit it all in the dash.
i bought the eclipse avn 6600 from PB and installed everything no prob. i dont know ANYTHING about radio installs, and pretty much after doing this install, i still don't know anything . its because everything was just plug and play. no extra harnesses or anything involved.

despite the ease in installing, the eclipse HU has very high quality. i am very pleased with it.

As both an installer and a taco owner, I cannot give a strong enough recommendation to the eclipse units. Just the fact that even the steering wheel controls plug right in should be enough. Get one with bluetooth too.You will not be dissapointed. Eclipse FTMFW!!!!!

Hey there,

i have the KENWOOD navigation/dvd unit.

love it... everyone always overlooks this unit.

it DOES NOT NEED a VSS input to show you your speed.

also does not need the nav disc in the dvd player to navigate. use's SD card slot.

hope this helps

Cheers
