The seatbelt locking mechamism of my driver's seat has been rattling and clicking for a few months. Even after exchanging the original mechanism the rattle started over again and persisted, (and the local Toyota service did this first exchange without question).

The replacement started making the noises and Toyota wanted to hear it this time. After a spin about with the mechanic he too heard the rattling. He had it repaired in under 10 minutes by taping a small piece of felt tape inside the seatbelt lock.

Now my SE runs quieter, soothing to my ears, thanks to a good job by a Toyota tech who also enjoys performance cars.

I have the same rattle but it's not that loud at all,just clicks coming out of it when going over bumps, it bothered me in the beginning but not anymore. It's good to know it can be fixed.

I thought that I would get used to the clicking and rattle, but it kept getting worse and my daughter finally asked how I could stand it? Believe me, once the obnoxious noise is gone, you will pleasently miss it!

Seat belt rattle

I just bought a 2012 Camry Hybrid XLE and my seat belt rattles like crazy too! I brought it in to my dealer and they kept the car for 7 hours and did not even try to fix the issue. They said that it was functioning normally but it is not. I rented a 2012 SE and it did not make the noise.
Can the person in North Carolina (brazilgoal) who got thier SE fixed PLEASE give me the name of the dealership and the service people who fixed it so I can inform this dealer here to contact them for some advice?
