I have lots of questions as this is my first Toyota 88 fuel injected 2.4 engine.
This question is, there are two temperature sending units on the front of the engine right next to the valve cover. On the one nearest the valve cover (on the right facing the engine) has been broken off. What is the function of this unit and what is it's proper name? My check engine light is on all the time and I figure it is because of this broken connection. I am not able to post a picture at this time but I can do that later if needed.

Thanks

IIRC, the one on the left is for the cold start injector timer and the one on the right is the EFI coolant temp.
There is a separate sensor for the coolant temp gauge.
