Doing valve cover gaskets on bank 2 and accidentally pulled one of the wires out of a sensor in the rear of the engine. I am really not sure what this one does. This car sat for years and everything is so fragile that I stripped the wire right out.

Anyone know what this sensor is and possibly have a part number? This photo is taken from underneath the car, viewing the rear of the engine. On the left there is a blue strip which is the valve cover gasket, just for a frame of reference.

Thank you in advance for help with this!

That looks like the power steering pressure switch. Does the connector with the wire that broke look like this one? 89438-33010 Power Steering Pressure Switch Connector for 97-06 Lexus ES RX | eBay
That's it! Wow I did not realize that was the power steering pump that low down there. So it looks like they sell the switch itself but it doesn't like anyone sells the replacement connector for the Avalon. I am hoping I can just unhook the end that attaches to the harness and slip that wire in the back end of it. I am not sure what other options I have.

Thank you SO much for helping me! I was miles from searching for that and I want to get this car wrapped up asap.

In my post #2 reply to you, I had a link to an eBay seller for that connector. Sounded like your wire broke away from your connector. With the eBay item, you simply connect your wire to the pigtail on that connector with a junction connector (you can get at an auto parts store) or solder the wires together and wrap in electrical tape. Pretty simple fix if you have access to the end of the wire on your wiring harness.

Oh my mistake I thought you just sent that one as a reference! I went ahead and copied the part number and found the exact one on Amazon with one day shipping so I should be able to knock it out in a day.
Thank you so so much!
