Hey guys. My family is in a need of a family car for the mean time, not really a forever car. This used dealership offering around $9000 for a 2008 Sr5 Sequoia with 160k miles. Does this sound like a good deal or should I just leave it? dont know if it has problems yet but will figure out soon and was wondering if sequoias last a A few years before we get a newer one and save.

They are Very reliable vehicles. That said, nothing is Perfect. Are we talking 5.7 engine? I ran a quick edmunds appraisal with the info above, assumed jbl, power front seats, sunroof, hitch and rear power outlets. It comes out 6500, 8300, 11500 (wholesale, person to person and retail).
So at retail, Yes its a 'good' deal Assuming it has nothing significant wrong with it.

Common issues are the AIP system, can be self repaired for a couple hundred yet dealer will charge 2-3 thousand, so don't get suckered.

You won't find anything as reliable as toyota products in general, and sequoias are near the top.

I start by getting underneath and checking for rust first. If that passes, we start looking deeper and then test drive.

Luck!
