check the better business bureau if the company is in the u.s. and i assume they have that in canada.

I'd go ahead and try these guys to get some quotes:Able Auto Transport (if I remember correctly they source out the job offer to some other licensed and bonded companies to get the lowest quote)
And for what it's worth I had an antique of mine picked up by Admiralty Transport, Inc. about a year ago.
They sent one hell of a driver to my place, did a sunday morning pickup, and even gave me a hand when the old girl played hard to move and refuse to get up on the trailer.
