The way bass works is it reflects off whatever it hits, and each thing it reflects off of makes it louder. You want to face your sub towards your trunk so it reflects the bass back towards your car
I would go with what fits the easiest for you. You see 'em facing out alot. Shows off the bling audio brand names on the voice coil dust covers etc. If they face in you could actually use the trunk and not worry about tearing the cones !
You are just moving air. The longer the voice coil excursion specs of the speaker the more you will feel it. If the enclosers are not ported facing back may make for more boom.
I face mine into the cabin so if you flip your seats down, you get the most insane bass ever. Trust me. It was mind blowing, if you have a strong enough system.
Thanks Guys
i agree with westcoast

common sense

for whatever reason, mine has the best quality sound when the ports are actually facing up.
i currently have my sub in a sealed box i made, due to the massive size of it, it only fits if the sub's front is facing up. i should of measured better.

SO, SOME OF YOU say face it upwards, some of you say face it backwards, some of you say face it towards the front of the car(towards the cabin)
INTERESTING....:whatwhat:
