I for one am sick and tired of the recurring revaluations from Toyota to known or new technical/safety problems. The latest admission further erodes my confidence in Toyota..............

From the Los Angeles Times.

Toyota Motor Corp. has acknowledged that a software bug in the device used to read its black boxes produced faulty data, only months after the automaker touted information from the recorders to suggest that human error caused sudden acceleration.
The automaker said it spotted and fixed the problem — which could give incorrect information on speed — in June and that it did not affect readings for pedal and brake application, crucial keys to determining potential causes of sudden acceleration.

But the admission casts fresh doubt on the reliability of data taken from black boxes, known as event data recorders, or EDRs, even as they have been used to help prop up the company's image as it weathers its ongoing recall crisis. Toyota has issued more than 11 million recall notices in the last year and has been hit with hundreds of lawsuits...................................

Nothing new, Old GM had been doing this for years. Too bad it seems to have rubbed off on Toyota.

Don't allow yourself to be suckered in by media hype. Same thing happens with plane crashes, a big government sex scandal, a crazed shooter, whatever, the media fixates on those stories and keeps running everything to death. Their obsessive coverage provides a false sense of disaster. Remember the Firestone tire fiasco? Took about two years for them to get off that kick.

You're sick and tired? I'm sick and tired of all the whiners & complainers. How does this realistically impact you?

You might be better off posting on one of those D3 sponsored journals like AutoNews. They're full of whiners.
