How long did it take to install (if you did them yourself)? No drilling involved, correct?
I had a friend to help install the running boards. It took us around 3-4 hrs. to install we took breaks here and there. And the instructions that came with the running boards was kind of difficult to understand. Luckily my buddy (mechanic) works for Honda dealer. So he has pretty good knowledge installing them. It did take some time to figure out the instructions. There were six spots that you have to drill. Do not believe them when they say no drilling required. There is actually drilling required. There is also six area where you have to cut where the bottom plastic cover is. Good luck.

Thanks for the pictures, that's the OEM running boards, anyone has after market boards, side steps or nerf bars installed, please post pictures and detail, really appreciated.

If no drilling is required then why did the instructions tell you to drill holes. If you decide to purchase these running boards you should take the instructions to the person who said no "no drilling is required" and see what he says. He should not tell you this if he is not familiarize with the running board installation. Good luck.

Hey, anyone out there from Canada that owns a HL with factory installed running board or step bars, please post some pictures for us. I saw some in Vancouver this past week, they look different from those installed in US. thanks

Question regarding finish on factory running boards

I have a few quick questions regarding the finish on the factory boards?

1. Is the entire board metal (aluminum I guess)?
2. Does it have any rubberized material for the foot section?
3. Can you tell if the finish is anodized or painted?
4. About how much do they weigh?

Thank you in advance. I really like the way they look but wonder how well the finish wil hold up if they are constantly being used by my kids getting into the vehicle. They need a step, but they would destroy the finish pretty quickly if it was just finished aluminum.

I believe if we wait a bit longer, there will be more aftermarket accessories available, I do agree paying almost $1400 for the running board and body kit is a bit too much, it doesn't even including installation.

Running boards

Hey guys here are pictures of the running board installed on the Blizzard Pearl HL. Enjoy.

Your running boards look great! I hate to ask you but do you have a close up picture of the boards? How much did you pay? I have the very same color HL as you and I think the black looks the best on that color! Not sure chrome would show up. Any advice on where to purchase would be appreciated.

Thanks

I agree with you that black would look better for the Pearl. Mine's installed with the classic silver and looks great as well. I don't remember what I paid for it -- it was near-invoice cost.
