Hi all,
I've got a '95 Previa and today as i was pulling up the handbrake, it was extremely slack untill almost the top of its travel where it finally gets tight. The brakes still work perfect but before it would be fully on MUCH lower than where it is now .

I'm presuming the cable just needs tightening, just wondering if you guys could tell me how? Also is it not worrying that the cable loosens that much that the handbrake travel has moved from near the bottom to right near the top, without any gradual deteriation (i.e moved in just one day)?

Thanks :)

OK slight update:

The majority of the slack seems to have come from the fact that the bracket where all 3 brake cables are attached, was fairly rusted so didnt fully go back. Lubed the place and with a tiny bit of force it moves. So now the majority of slack has gone but the lever travel is still the same.

I tried to adjust some nuts under the van. Heres a pic (not mine) if the bracket:

I "lowered" the nuts down as far as they would go (i.e away from the spring) and now theres a fair amount of the threaded row showing above it. Re-tried and the handle is still going up 9 clicks! Now im lost as i thought lowering the nuts would be all i have to do?

Any help would be great :sosad:
