Slam passenger door => key not detected

Every morning when I drop my kid off at school, I get the key not detected as soon as they slam the passenger door closed.

It's only in the morning, and yes the fob has a new battery.

Should I look for a loose connection? If so, where? 2016 XLE

For the sake of diagnostic, have you tried having your kid slamming the door when you hold the key fob next to the Smart Start button? Does the key not detected warning still shows up?
Good question, let me experiment tonight.
I don't seem to be able to do it on-demand, so reproducing this might take a while. Are you thinking I should try a different key fob?

I did install a dash cam which runs down the passenger front pillar. Is it possible there is a loose connection there or under the dash on the passenger side?

Yes, I was indeed thinking either a different key fob (or although the battery is new, sometimes if purchased online they may be weak); you are reading my mind.

I have helped many friends here to install (front only, front & back) dash cams, I cannot imagine anywhere there is potential for any connection to come loose... besides almost all wire connectors in cars are with clip (for interlocking), unless you had disconnected any (or pinched any wire).
The conditions for reproducing this are pretty specific, early morning, cold weather, inclined driveway... I will do as you suggest and start using the other key fob, with a new battery.

Thanks again.
