the truck I found has a sloppy shifter. If you think it going in 1st in may be in 3rd. Do I need to start with a bushing kit ?

That's pretty sloppy. Defenitely start with the cup and seat. Marlin has a heavy duty set.

yeah man i had the same problem and i got a cup and seat and it tightened it right up

Is the cup and seat the same thing as the bushing kit??
If not, do I do a search for them on the net or would a local parts store be able to get it?

ask a local shop for the seat and cup, they will know what your talking about, if you look on the net type in shifter seat and cup. they are liek 13 dollars together. and really easy to install

Get the marlin one - I will show you a before/after clip of how my shifter was when I installed my marlin crawler shifter seat and bushing.

Its worth it!

Please mind the crappy video - taken with an old digital camera, and yes I didn't remove my wheel club.

Before: *note - 5th and reverse would not work unless I twisted my shifter clockwise*!
