Hey everyone.

My one-owner 2006 Sienna was in pristine condition when I bought it in Feb this year, but in the second month I had it I misjudged my distance when backing out of a gas station parking spot and banged into the pole at the end of a gas pump island. Not hard, but enough to cause a chip in the paint about 4" long x .25" tall. Now 6 months later, rust is taking hold in the exposed spot.

When I got this Sienna it looked like it had been kept under glass for 16 years, and now I envision this little rust spot spreading and uglifying the back end, especially with Winter and road salt rapidly approaching. Can somebody recommend DIY products I need to halt the rust and restore the chipped area so I can avoid going to a body shop for such a tiny ding?

Thanks.

Thanks. I got a sanding pen for the rust, and a ColorRite Pen color matched to my Sienna with paint on one end, clear coat on the other. I found a primer pen at AutoZone, too, but it was like $40! The AutoZone guy said save my money and just get a can of primer for $11, put it in warm water for 5 minutes, then spray it in the cap, and apply to the scratch it with a toothpick.I mean he could have sold me the $40 primer pen, so I reckon it must be good advice.

Took a lot of searching before I came across this. Well reviewed and matched by vehicle color code. $14.

Depending on how much work ya wanna do, paint pen, spray can or tempoarily clear nail polish until you decide.
