When I turn on my AC, a "sour" smell comes out.. its so bad that i cant use my AC anymore... I dont use it much now since it winter anyway, but down here in GA. it gets a little warm sometimes. has anyone had this problem? or does anyone know what i should do?

ok, but i changed that out about 3 months ago...someone told me that my AC might be mildewing or molding... could that be a problem? thanks

yep.... check that cabin filter. check around inside there for mildew buildup. wipe around inside there with a rag soaked in clorox and then wring out by hand...that will kill anything that's growing in there....don't get any on your clothes or carpet though or you'll have other problems.

you also might want to sniff around different areas of your carpet and see if you have any leaks of any seals around the doors or windows.

Perhaps a little aerosol Lysol sprayed up into the intake while the fan is running to kill any mildew up in the system. It may not be instant but shortly it will kill that nasty fungus. I had to redo a shower wall that had water rot/mildew all in it. I went through a few cans of that Lysol spray but it took care of the bad smell.

Let us know what you do and how it works as we all may need to do "that" soon.

If he were to do that, i'd suggest letting a buddy help and hold towels over the air outlets to catch any of the lysol from getting on your seats/dash/console.

alright will do... i think it might be mildew or something because ive been having a hard time breathing lately when i started smelling it. but yeah tomorrow i'll clean everything up near my cabin filter with clorox and lysol :)
