February 3rd; a morning after a snowstorm in Truckee, CA. It took me about 35mins just to dig out to my driver's door, under the truck, and around the right side.

Barely made it out in 4-Lo; dug out the snow from under the truck some more ... and voila!

Note snow stuffed in the wheels ... I had to pull over and brush them off as the imbalance caused my steering wheel to whobble.

Snow drift piled onto my tonneau.

Driving out of the cabin neighbourhood ...

Driving to Northstar Resort for 2nd day of snowbrding.

Yeah got there evening of Feb1; Snowbrded Northstar Feb2&3. The pics are from Feb3rd not 4th .. correction. We were suppose to go night boarding at Boreal that same evening, Feb2, but it was coming down hard and there was a line up just to get past the CalTrans Chain inspection.

I'm up at either Northstar/Sierra almost every wkend since I have the double-whammy season pass.

The evening of the storm I decided to go for a drive to the town center; to pick up some food and get cell phone reception. It was a fun drive in 4x4 ... I was purposely riding on the center of the streets where the snow piles up just to see how the truck handled.:thumbup::thumbup: :naughty::naughty::naughty:

When the snow dumps and there is a 3.5" layer on the road, having a truck for clearance and bigger tires really help. It got to a point where the AWD Audis/Subarus/miniSUVs were struggling b/c of their small tire treads and lower clearance.

By the time I gotten back to the cabin ... I had trouble gettin back into my parking spot b/c there was already 5" of snow.

Here are some shots from our neck of the woods (Hemlock Mountain B.C.) This is a one and a half storey A-Frame cabin over a full basement with only the top floor above the snowline.

This is how we got in

This is looking out the front door!

Yotaforshota, that is down right nuts. I thought fernie got alot of snow, to think that is like 1 hour away from Vancouver. BC is crazy with all the different weather. How does the taco do on the snow cause I noticed no chains in any of the pics?

Ya the snow up there is NUTS! Best year for we've had in quite some time. The BF All Terrains kick ass in the snow and the plows did an OK job....about 6 inches of powder was over the hard packed stuff and the plows had been going all day!
