What are the specs, and no it isnt
92 2wd 22re 126k miles
see for sale sticky

basically everything but the started and water pump has been replaced.
tranny rebuilt last fall
timing chain at 100k
mechanically the thing is top notch.
cosmetically it's decent...besides the black driver side fender.
maybe a 250 dollar maaco paintjob will seal the deal eh?

People are cheap.

If you really want to sell it, put it on craigslist for 'best offer by xyz date!" and stick to it. You may be surprised the offers you get. Cash is King.
yeah they are

thats not a bad idea

after looking at your add on craigslist, i have a few pointers that might help get you some more $$$
1. clean your interior floor boards. they are dirty
2. remove the speakers that are hanging out of the lower dash and fix the holes
3. take the intake off and put it back to stock. most people want to see stock stuff so they dont think it was abused either racing or off road.
4. find a glove box and put it back in
5. replace your antana even if it isnt hooked up.

the way your truck sits in those pics, i wouldnt give you anymore then $1200-$1500 for it. do those simple things above and i wouldnt hesitate to go $2000-$2400.

I have to agree with Sid. The truck doesn't exactly appear mint with the black fender, apparently sun faded paint and the worn tail gate along with the other things Sid mentioned.

No offense but there are 4x4 extra cabs in that condition going for $3500. To get top dollar the vehicle has to be in top shape.

was up till 4am workin last night.....
replaced the lower portion of the dash
put in 4" speakers and a new glove box
The majority of my time was spend sanding the entire pickup down to go have it painted, not to mention a couple dents were a bitch to pull.
the intake is staying, but im building a new bracket to bolt it firmly in place, the current one wobbles a bit.
taking it to a local paint shop and having the OE red color re-sprayed.
once i get it back, ill be cleaning the engine bay.

now..back to sleep for me (10:54am :) )

You have gotten some good advice. It will be difficult to find someone who wants that old a truck with a turbo on it. One think I suggest, is not to let people try to haggle with you over the phone. Make them invest some time in the deal by looking at the truck. I say somethinkg like " yes the price is negotiable, but I want you to see the car before we talk price". This will give you only interested buyers.

God, so much space just begging for a T3/T4
i was kinda thinkin about the charger from LC...for the 4runner of course. id rather put a charger on a rebuilt motor than one im trying to sell haha.

im my experience.....which is none, chargers are nicer to the engine than turbos

I thought about a charger too...lol. I would like to know more about the benefits of both the charger and turbo.
my roomate is really familiar with superchargers. he's putting a vortech v1 on his jetta. apparantly, chargers cause less wear on engines compared to turbos. you can run 5, 6, 7, 8psi very safely with a charger whereas a turbo with such low boost, combined with turbo lag doesnt prove to be as beneficial as a charger. plus, i like the whine of a charger on a yota, sounds pissed

Lol...it would be cool if it stuck out of the hood too...but I think it is mounted to the side...but it still would be cool.

Can your run that much psi on a stock 22re safely?

What do you have to do to the computer?

main difference between Super and Turbo Chargers:
turbo pulls out
super pushes in

A turbo will have some lag before it starts spooling
Supercharger boosts immediately upon engine demand

ANY forced induction on a 22r(e) will need an upgrade of the fuel system if you're boosting over 8psi

22RET motors I believe have a different ECU, not sure exactly what is different. If you ask me, it'd probably be timing and fuel injector pulsewidth

forced induction motors work better with lower compression motors. try to get your combustion chamber stound 8:1 or 8.5:1

I don't know of anyone who makes a carburetor compatible with a turbo setup, as far as I know, 22R is only available with a supercharger on the 4cyl models and I haven't personally seen a supercharger on the FI model either, but plenty of turbos

and lastly.. how can the supercharger whine even remotely compare to a BOV? dude! those things are the happiest sound I know of! haha

p.s. see LCEngineering.com if you've got the cash to go big. They've got a SWEET high boost kit and sell both TC and SC kits

oh yes.. and no forced induction is really ever nice to an engie. Superchargers need nose kits every now and again, turbos need rebuilds because of shaft play, etc.

but they both are hard on rings, valve springs, cam shafts, lubrication, and mechanical components in general. and punching it off the line is always hard on tranny gears, u-joints, and diffs/axles. The instant torque wears them out, and having a turbo at the end of any spped junkie's foot is "hard" on an engine
