I bought my 2002 Solara used, thus I don't have an owner's manual yet.

My problem is that my tail lights are not working, despite installing new bulbs. The brake lights work fine, but the tail lights will not come on. I've looked for the fuse but without the manual I'm uncertain which one or where the correct fuse is located.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it a fuse? Could it be a connection somewhere? Does the bulb make a difference? (I replaced them both with the same type that were already in there.)

I'd rather not take this in to a dealer for something that seems quite minor, but I need to fix the problem ASAP.

Thanks for your help, Greg

There is a fuse box on the bottom part of the drivers side dash, You pull out the change holder. And there is also one in the engine bay above the left fender and next to the battery. The cover will designate which fuse goes to which. There is also a little white plastic tool to help you pull out the fuses in the fuse box located in the engine bay.

Thanks man- I've looked down there before and just got back up from my garage and I do not see a fuse box anywhere down there on my 2002 Solara SLE. I stuck my head all the way up there with a flash light and did see one black box that could be a fuse box but I'd have to take off the whole lower portion of the dash to get to it. It' obviously not conveniently accessible like on most cars. Is this it? or is there something more obvious that I'm totally missing? Thanks-
