Just wanted to give everyone an update on the progress of the Solara... I wanted to wait til spring to show it all off, but Im too antsy
I have been working with Mike at Modified FX/Allspeed performance and its been awesome- I have to give a big shout out to him for all of his help with everything, not to mention the free storage all winter! Thanks Mike!
The car went in for a full JP Performance Exhaust install, consisting of headers, y-pipe with high flow cat, and a 3" catback to a magnaflow muffler- not my favorite muffler, but it should work alright for my needs. Of course the fitment of the y-pipe was off, so Mike had to extend a section of it and reweld.
The rear bumper was faded and cracked, so that goes in for a repaint today. I had bad axle seals and a rear main seal, so those were pulled and replaced as well. H&R Trak 5mm spacers and studs went onto the rear to make room for the new wheels and tires- gold Rays Gram Lights 57s 18x8.5 40mm offset wrapped in Khumo rubber (also a big thanks to chris at discount tire!) They are just about flush, Im really happy with the look and fitment!
We will be finishing things up this week, including rolling the rear fenders and welding adapter plates onto my Corbeau rails to fit the Sparco torino seats I picked up from Jspeedrifter. Then itll be off to autorama, I cant wait!
Here are some pics of my car and the shop:
You can see where he had to extend the y-pipe by about an inch... we are going to spray the exhaust so it wont rust.
seats sitting in the car while we make brackets...
mike grinding the rails down to weld the metal onto them:
waiting patiently to come home
From this point, all thats left is the fuel mods, smaller pulley, tune, and a black interior conversion. Then the car will finally be done! Ill be sure to keep you guys posted.
