A quick speaker/audio question. I have an XLE, which came with the 6-speaker system. I had the Pioneer Z120BT installed, along with a rear drop-down screen. The sound up front is very good, more than adequate for my needs. In the rear, there's just a tiny speaker on what I guess is a C-pillar (by the second row seatback), and it really sounds terrible. If I put the fader to the back, it's really un-listenable. So, where are the speakers on the Siennas with the 10-speaker JBL system? Can anyone with a Ltd or the upgraded stereo take a look and let me know? I want to figure out where/how to upgrade the rear sound. I may just add a sub-woofer and see if that gets me decent sound, but I think I need better full range speakers in the rear.

Thanks!

How did you get this head unit installed? Did you have the dash trim kit made for it. I have been waiting for a while to add navy to my SE but I have to wait for the dash trim kit for it.

Hey one you guys with a Limited or anyone with JBL - where are the rear speakers? Help a brother out!

I don't feel like going to another Toyota dealer and poke around... I believe there's a speaker on each sliding door, but there must be a bigger speaker and/or subwoofer somewhere.

Thanks

Thanks much! I hope I can install something like that - much better than using up any cargo space for a box for a sub.

I would think, with a custom bracket, you could fit a good 8" sub in there. You have more than enough space depth-wise as that speaker is 5 3/4" deep and most 8" subs are right about 5" deep.

It almost looks like you could wire a small amp on the other side of where the sub goes in the door back there...just don't know about cooling.

Where is everyone mounting amps?

I tried to put a JL 8 in the hole but it stuck out too far just setting it in there. I fully agree an amp could be put in there and also a shallow mount sub. The JL seemed too deep but with the right bracket/MDF spacer and maybe some work on the back cover panel...I could wrong...I would love to be wrong too. I have no time now so I cannot help at this point, sorry guys.

Which JL? The 8W3v3-4 requires a mounting depth of 4.63 inches. That's less than that 8x12 sub.

The 8W7AE-3 will not fit.

JL also has a 6" sub that mounts at a depth of 4.25 inches. I've never heard a 6" sub so I don't know how that would sound.

Finally, JBL has an 8" sub with a mounting depth of just 4.38 inches. That is the GT0804.

I just realized a 'regular' sub won't work in there. Most arent free air subs like that 8x12 or whatever the size is. Might be stuck with a box for a sub. I'm installing JL 6x9's up front and putting an amp under the passenger seat Saturday. For now I'm going to wire the shitty 5 1/4 speakers in back to the amp too in hopes of cleaning the sound up. I don't think the 2 1/4 in the dash need the amp. We'll see what happens.
