I need to replace the brake master cylinder on my 1995 Corolla. My Chilton manual states the following:

Before the master cylinder is reinstalled, the brake booster pushrod must be adjusted. This adjustment requires the use of factory special tool SST No. 09737-00010 or its equivalent.

I've not been able to find the special tool 09737-00010. Does anyone know if this tool is really required and if so, where it can be obtained (preferrably as a loaner)? Thanks!

i've not done a master on a corolla/prizm but the ones i have done i've never had to mess with the rod. pull the master and see if you can see what theyre talking about.

Alternate method w/o sst 09737-00010 tool

It has a method to measure the critical pin dimensions when you do not have the tool available.
